When I turned 49, I realized that I needed to do something to get back in shape and embrace a healthier lifestyle if I wanted to stave off illness and stay as youthful as possible as I get older. I had become too sedentary. At 5'10", my waistline was growing and I reached an all-time high 227 pounds. I've joined many health clubs in my past only to commit to an annual membership, go once or twice, then ultimately let excuses kick in (too busy, too tired, etc.) and end up never going back. Needless to say, I've wasted hundreds, if not thousands of dollars in the past and didn't get any results. I needed something different...something effective, if I was going to stay the course this time around. That's when I found Rob.

From my first meeting with Rob, I knew I had found a home. When I first started, I couldn't do a pull-up, I could barely do 5 pushups, my core was weak and I couldn't run more than a block without stopping. Now, 3.5 years later, I workout religiously 5 days per week. I've lost 25 pounds, gained substantial muscle, and my strength has dramatically increased.

While others my age are lifting less and less, I'm continuously reachig new PRs (25 max pull-ups, 55 max pushups, 275lb bench press, and a 285lb squat. More importantly, I don't have to think about my training routine each day. My job is to show up. Rob takes care of the rest. When you have personal trainers that have mastered the exercises, understand how to avoid injury, advise you on proper diet, and emphasize total body fitness and conditioning, it's sooooo much easier to get long lasting results than most can accomplish on their own by going to a standard gym.

Growing old is a fact of life. As we grow older, we have a seemingly built-in tendency to become introspective which results in a sort of 'self analysis'. When I turned 40 years old, that self analysis was the catalyst for the realization that I was in a precarious health position. Identifying ones weaknesses and strengths are two different things, however.

I spoke with several personal trainers at that point and it wasn't until I spoke with Rob that I realized that trainers and facilities should be more than just a certificate on a wall and a bunch of 'toys' to play with. Rob showed me right up front that there is plenty of BS out there and that science based, reality based training is something from which everyone can benefit, regardless of your age, gender, or perceived capabilities.

It is through Rob's connected and detailed guidance that I have been able to *FAR* surpass my highest expectations in regards to both my physical fitness and overall health. Growing up in my household I was constantly surrounded by mirrors everywhere. My mother even decided it was acceptable (and not gaudy) to have mirrors on the doors to our closets. Everywhere I walked in my house it was like being hounded by my own fat shadow. One day, however, I decided that hiding beneath all the pudge there was at least a decent looking person. I knew that I did not have the knowledge or discipline to reach my goal on my own. On a whim, I messaged Rob and ever since then I have not had one regret. With Rob's help, I began to lead a healthy lifestyle. It went beyond just the sessions in the gym where he managed to make my uncoordinated and out of shape self perform exercises I did not think possible but also translated into teaching me what a healthy lifestyle actually entails. Rob works with you to make sure that, for example, you are not only eating the right things but you are able to understand why, and learn what the right choices are when faced with them. The mirrors have since been removed from my house but I kept the one in my room. I like what I see now.
